Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Marlo S. Acenas, SSJV officiates mass at the municipal hall lobby

In his homily, Fr. Acenas explains the transfiguration of Jesus in the high mountain (Luke 9. 28-36). He reminds a story of an old man who asked Jesus: “Lord why are there so many mountains and hills to climb in life?” Jesus replied, “My son, the mountains you climb in life is for you to have a better view in life.” Fr. Acenas thus exhorts government workers to have a “better view” on the needs of their neighbors especially the poor and find solution to improve their living conditions. Imagine a quote from famous Greek philosopher, Socrates, who said: “Man must rise above the earth - to the top of the atmosphere and beyond - for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives in.”
