Municipal Council passes resolution of condolence upon the death of former mayor Felipe G. Kho

HONORING the late former mayor Felipe G. Kho, the Municipal Council passed a resolution last Monday expressing their profound condolence upon the death of the former town mayor and appreciation for his valuable service to the municipality.

The former mayor Felipe “Epe” Kho died last May 7, 2009 at Cagayan de Oro City. He was 68.

Immediately, Mayor Alex Jajalla directed the Philippine National Police to raise the Philippine National Flag in the Municipal Hall at half mast until his body will be laid to final rest.

The resolution which was passed last May 11 and signed by Vice Mayor Rogerio C. Acle on behalf of the Municipal Council and Mayor Alex R. Jajalla on behalf of the Municipal Government, recognized the former mayor for his valuable contribution to the municipality during his administration.

The Municipal Council referred to him as a “highly spirited, gracious and great leader,” and his loss to his family will be shared by many people of this town whom he touched and on whom he had a significant impact on their lives during his lifetime.

“Felipe G. Kho was elected as the Municipal Mayor of Mahinog in 1968, the position he held until 1986. He served the Municipality for 18 years with extraordinary enthusiasm, diligence and gracious style,” the Council resolution read.

It added that the former mayor “will always be remembered for his high spirits of leadership and service and will also be recognized for his valuable contributions to the Municipality of Mahinog,”

The Municipal Council said it deeply mourns his sudden demise and the entire municipality joins the Kho Family in this momentary grief.

It added that the passing away of former mayor Epe Kho is a great loss not only to his family and friends but also to the people of Mahinog and the entire province. (Municipal Information Office)
