Mahinog sends aid to “Ondoy” victims

OVERWHELMED by the devastation caused by Tropical Storm “Ondoy”, the municipal government releases P50,000 relief assistance for victims of tropical storm “Ondoy” in Metro Manila and adjoining province.

In just 12 hours, Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international name: Ketsana) dumped a month’s worth of rain on the city of 12 million people, submerging 80% of the capital, killing some 250 people Saturday September 26, 2009 and displaced hundreds of thousands more, the reports said.

“Metro Manila is home of many Mahinognons, and in own our little way we want to help them and those who are affected through this unimaginably difficult time,” said Mayor Alex R. Jajalla.

He also said that the money was coursed through the Office of Congressman Pedro P. Romualdo in Manila for proper distribution to the victims. (Homer R. Jajalla - Mahinog Information Office)
