PGMA to launch NARS in Camiguin

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will distribute tomorrow October 20 the training certificates of 25 nurse-trainees as she launches the Nurses Assigned in Rural Service (NARS) program during the opening of Camiguin Lanzones Festival.

The 25 nurses come from five municipalities of Catarman, Sagay, Mahinog, Guinsiliban and Mambajao in the province of Camiguin.

The nurses will be given stipends of P8,000 per month including P2,000 from the local government units and will be deployed for three months clinical duty and three months rural service.

They will also be entitled to group insurance from the Government Service Insurance System and the Department of Labor and Employment.

The NARS project, which was launched by the President in February this year, is part of the Arroyo administration’s Economic Resiliency Plan to mitigate the impact of the global economic crisis.
