Mahinog contingent scores four consecutive wins in Camiguin Lanzones Fest, eyeing to join Sinulog Fest 2013


Mahinog, Camiguin, Oct. 29, 2012 - For four consecutive years, the contingents from the Municipality of Mahinog was declared as the grand champion in the recently concluded 33rd Camiguin Lanzones Festival held at Camiguin Tourism Complex in Balbagon, Mambajao, Camiguin on Saturday.

Mahinog won the coveted title in what was generally considered a tight match between the contingents from the municipality of Sagay with the large crowd enthralled by their amazing performances.

With their phenomenal victory, Mahinog contingent is eyeing to join for the first time in the Sinulog Festival Grand Parade in Cebu City this coming January 2013, Mahinog Mayor Alex R. Jajalla disclosed during the “Pasalamat” (thank you) program held at the municipal hall grounds on Monday.

“We are now considering the possibility of joining the Sinulog Festival in Cebu next year,” Mayor Jajalla said quoting the statement of Camiguin Governor Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo during the declaration of winners at Camiguin Tourism Center.

Mahinog contingent which also copped the Music Showdown and Lanzones Festival Queen, was represented by the students from Columbia St. Michael’s Parish High School and was choreographed by multi-awarded choreographer Harold B. Antallan who also grabbed the Best Choreographer Award.
