Mahinog mayor launches Citizens Desk

(14 November) -- TO address issues, problems and complaints from the public, Mayor Alex R. Jajalla of Mahinog town in Camiguin launched the Citizen's Desk with a cutting of ribbon and a simple program after the flag-raising ceremony at the municipal hall lobby recently.

The Citizen's Desk, the first so far to be launched in the province of Camiguin, was institutionalized through Executive Order No. 7 issued by Mayor Jajalla in line with the local government excellence program under his administration's A.L.E.X. development agenda.

A.L.E.X. stands for agricultural productivity, local government excellence, empowering the people with livelihood opportunities, and express delivery of basic services.

In explaining the program's rationale, MPDC Benito C. Paderanga said the Citizen's Desk will serve as referral action center to respond to the needs of the people and refer it to appropriate government offices for immediate action.

Municipal Accountant Leonardo M. Ucat gave some personal tips on customer service, good grooming and courtesy that government employees must do in handling their clients.

Mayor Alex, in his message, emphasized that Mahinognons, the real boss, should be served with utmost excellence.
