Mahinog officials congratulate contingents, choreographer for winning Hall of Fame Award in Lanzones Festival

Mahinog, Camiguin- The Municipality of Mahinog bagged the Hall of Fame Award in the 2013 Lanzones Festival held in Mambajao, Camiguin recently.

In a resolution signed by Vice Mayor Rogerio C. Acle and approved by Mayor Alex R. Jajalla, the municipal council expressed its congratulations and appreciation to the contingent represented by Columbia St. Michael Parish High School for making history as the first contingent to win the hall of fame award at the Lanzones Festival of Camiguin.

The same recognition was also given to Harold B. Antallan, who choreographed Mahinog contingent for 6 straight years since 2008.

“The talented CSMPHS dancers have for a fifth consecutive years demonstrated their dancing aptitude in winning the street dancing and ground (tableau) competition during the Lanzones Festival,” the resolution said.

“Under the tutelage of Harold B. Antallan, a multi awarded choreographer from Surigao, these young dancers showed their amazing dance moves and choreography highlighted by very colorful props and costumes,” the resolution added.

“This historic win of Mahinog at the Lanzones Festival continues to be the source of pride and accomplishment for the Mahinog people,” the resolution noted.

“The Mahinog contingents’ victory, once again, brought honor to the municipality and giving recognition to those who made this possible is very due and laudable,” the resolution said.

Winning contingents from Mahinog made a repeat performance after a thanksgiving mass and procession in time of the culmination of the Month of Holy Rosary at St. Michael's ground in Mahinog, Camiguin Thursday,  Oct. 31, 2013.

  1. Is it true that Lanzones will be joining Sinulog 2014? If so, that is very exciting! Camiguin will surely be one of the contingents to watch out for this coming Sinulog 2014!
